Building a considered appliance range for your market.
A useful appliance range gives each product a clear role. Adding more items does not automatically make a collection more coherent. Start by considering the routines your customers already have, then identify which product lines can support those routines in a way that fits your market and sales channel.
Organise around everyday needs
Think about the setting in which a product will be used. Home appliances can introduce an air-care or circulation conversation. Water purification products belong to daily drinking-water routines. Kitchen appliances can support preparation, cooking or coffee, while cleaning appliances relate to the upkeep of living spaces.
Personal-care products focus on grooming and hair-care routines. Pet appliances bring feeding and hydration into the range. These six directions provide a starting framework; they do not mean that every business needs to launch every category at once.
Give each proposed product a purpose
Write one sentence explaining the job of each product in the collection. Include the intended customer, use setting and reason it belongs beside the other items. If two products have almost the same role, ask whether both are needed or whether their differences will be clear to the customer.
A focused opening range can make descriptions, imagery and staff product knowledge easier to manage. Select the lines that fit your audience, then use enquiries and customer feedback to guide later conversations about additions. Keep the range plan flexible until individual models and availability are confirmed.
Consider what happens after the first use
Some appliance formats involve filters, consumable parts, accessories or routine cleaning. Ask what the chosen model requires, how those items are identified and what information the customer should receive. Discuss replacement availability and any relevant service questions before deciding how the product will be presented.
Also consider storage, packaging dimensions, instruction languages and how the appliance will be demonstrated. Confirm these details for the selected model rather than applying assumptions from a different product in the same category.
Build a simple review sheet
- Which customer routine does this product support?
- What role does it have in the wider collection?
- How is it different from other proposed items?
- Which specification and documentation questions remain open?
- What accessories, consumables or care information may be needed?
- What feedback would help shape the next range discussion?
Use the sheet to compare product directions consistently, without treating an early assortment plan as a final commitment. Browse the six KEVAN product lines and tell our team about the range you have in mind.
